I offer insight-oriented individual and relationship therapy to adolescents and adults. I draw upon Narrative Therapy and Psychodynamic Theory, attuned to cultural and political context, as the foundation to my clinical work. Specific to relationship therapy, I use blended elements of NIRI (Narrative Informed Relational Interviewing) and EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy).
My specialities include: anxiety (climate, generalized, phobia, insomnia, social), stress-related concerns (academic, burnout, work), and relational concerns (attachment, grief, interpersonal violence, life transitions).
I am an out-of-network provider and do not accept Medicare. This is an intentional decision due to limited administrative capacity as a solo provider and general unease with how insurance companies interact with mental health clinicians (e.g., clawbacks, delay in reimbursement, secrecy around contract rates).
I am aware that my decision to opt-out (part of a larger trend in mental health) impacts the ability, particularly for middle and working class people, to access psychological care. For that reason, I offer a limited number of sliding scale spots.
My decision to be an out-of-network provider may change in the future as I am continually seeking ways to provide more equitable care in the midst of precarious economic times.
